Tamarac: Small Business Micro Grant
Get the boost your business needs with up to $10,000 for resident-owned businesses and up to $5,000 for non-residents. Covers eligible expenses from the past 120 days.

Requirements
- Must be a qualified For-Profit Business physically located in the City of Tamarac, Florida.
- Must have no outstanding code violations or liens on the property.
- Must be actively registered with the Florida Division of Corporations.
- Must hold a current Broward County and Tamarac Local Business Tax Receipt (BTR) (2024 or 2025).
- Must have current federal tax filings (e.g., IRS Form 1120, 1120-S, 1065, or Schedule C) (2023 or 2024).
- If in operation for less than one year must submit:
- A. Business Plan
- B. Proof of completing a recognized entrepreneurship program or small business bootcamp
- Must have gross annual revenue of $1 million or less.
- Must have 20 or fewer full-time employees.
- Applicant must own at least 50% of the business.
Tamarac: Tenant Improvement/Interior Buildout Grant
The Tamarac Tenant Improvement/ Interior Buildout Grant offers up to $100K for interior upgrades and up to 25% rental assistance as a reimbursement to qualified businesses.

Requirements:
- Must be a qualified for-profit business opening or relocating to a commercial space within the City of Tamarac, Florida.
- The commercial space must be zoned appropriately for the intended business use.
- Must have a current Broward County Business Tax Receipt.
- Applicants must show proof that they have submitted an application for a Tamarac Local Business Tax Receipt (BTR) or are actively working with City staff to obtain one. The Business Tax Receipt must be issued before grant funds can be disbursed.
- Must provide proof of active status with the Florida Division of Corporations.
- The commercial property must be free of any outstanding code violations, liens, or legal encumbrances.
- Must own or lease the commercial space where interior improvements will be made and provide a copy of the ownership or lease agreement.
- Must intend to make eligible interior improvements to the commercial space that comply with all City of Tamarac permitting and building codes.
- Must pass all required City inspections related to the improvements.
- Business owners must hold at least 50% ownership in the business.
- Must submit a complete application with all required documentation.
Tamarac: Commercial Facade Grant
The City of Tamarac’s Commercial Façade Grant Program offers up to 80% reimbursement for eligible exterior improvements, with a maximum award of $250,000.
The program aims to revitalize commercial corridors by supporting transformative renovations of retail plaza properties. Eligible projects must include façade improvements as well as enhancements such as landscaping, parking, signage, and lighting (see full guidelines for details). Construction must begin within 12 months of grant agreement execution and be completed within 24 months.

Tamarac: Commercial Facade Grant
The CPRP is a proactive initiative by the City of Tamarac to assist commercial plaza owners in resolving code violations, improving property conditions, and enhancing the local business environment.
The program offers structured compliance support and financial incentives to promote timely improvements and the use of local, minority-, women-, and small-owned businesses. Tiered Incentives include:
Tier 1: Complete your project on time to receive assistance in reducing outstanding fines.
Tier 2a: Spend at least 20% of your project cost with local, minority-, women-, or small-owned businesses in Tamarac or Broward County to qualify for a 20% reimbursement, up to $5,000.
Tier 2b: Spend 100% of your project cost with these businesses to qualify for a 50% reimbursement, up to $10,000.
Tier 3: Receive up to $5,000 in reimbursement for aesthetic improvements through the Community Development Department’s Commercial Property Improvement Program. Contact the department for eligibility details.

Broward County Small Business Micro-Grant Pilot Program
The Office of Economic and Small Business Development (OESBD) administers a Small Business Micro-Grant Pilot Program to provide working capital for small businesses located within Broward County.
The pilot program is intended to assist the smallest of Broward businesses that need financial assistance. The application process is online and qualified applications will be reviewed by OESBD. Qualifying applicants can apply for $2,500 in reimbursable expenses for their small business for eligible expenses paid within 120 days prior to their application date.

What is the Small Business Micro Grant Program?
The Tamarac Small Business Micro Grant is a reimbursement-based grant of up to $10,000 that covers eligible business expenses incurred within 120 days prior to the application date. The program is designed to support economic development and encourage local entrepreneurship within the City of Tamarac.
How much funding is available?
Eligible businesses may receive up to $5,000 in reimbursable grant funding for non-resident-owned businesses, and up to $10,000 for businesses owned by Tamarac residents.
Are home-based businesses eligible?
No. Only qualified for-profit businesses operating in a commercial space within the City of Tamarac are eligible.
Is this a loan that must be repaid?
No. This is a reimbursement-based grant, not a loan. However, you must submit proper documentation of eligible expenses to receive funds.
Can I apply more than once?
Each business that is awarded must wait one year before re-applying for grant funds.
I have not been operating long enough to file taxes, can I still apply?
Yes. If your business has been operating for less than one year and you have not yet filed taxes, you may still apply as a startup. In place of tax documents, you must submit proof of completion of a small business boot camp or approved entrepreneurship program.
Is funding guaranteed?
No. Grants are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis until funds are exhausted. Submitting an application does not guarantee approval.
When will I know if I’m approved?
All applications are reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis. After evaluation, you will receive an email notifying you whether your application has been approved or denied. If denied, the email will include the reason(s) so you can make necessary revisions and reapply.
Is there a deadline to submit my application?
The program will be open for 2 years or until funds have been exhausted.
I was awarded the Broward County Micro Grant Pilot Program. Can I still qualify for the Tamarac Small Business Micro Grant?
Yes, you may still apply and be eligible for the Tamarac Small Business Micro Grant.
